PhysTechSoft Ltd. (PTS) was founded in 1991 as independent software developing company dealing mostly with system programming. Since its foundation PhysTechSoft has been integrated into the structure of the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology which provides the country with the research scientists and research engineers of the highest possible qualification. Being located in MIPT, PhysTechSoft is of immense help in search and attracting talented programmers.

Every year since 1991 PhysTechSoft holds Summer Programmer School for students where we use two possibilities: to arrange the special courses for our employees and to find the most qualified young programmers among the students and involve them into the PhysTechSoft activity.

The first product created by PTS in 1991 was the Command Processor (CP), certainly the worlds most powerful program of DOS Shell type. Now the new version of CP as the other different utilities is included in PTS-DOS Extended package.

In the end of 1993 PhysTechSoft launched the most significant new product known now in Europe as "Wunder DOS Aus Russland"- operating system PTS-DOS Extended version 6.4, and started sales in Germany.

The PTS-DOS version 6.65 was presented at CeBIT'97 exhibition. Participation of PhysTechSoft in CeBIT'97 attracted attention of many specialists and stimulated the great interest of companies dealing with software.

PTS activity is strongly supported by the government, Russian Defense Ministry and Federal Agency of Government Communication and Informatics.

In 1996 in the agreement of the order of Institute of Cosmic Industrial Building PTS has developed operating systems for industrial embedded computers PTSROM DOS. System components: Loader of BIOS, BIOS, DOS, DOS command interpreter, and extra utilities.

In 1996-1997 PTS by the order of Russian Defense Ministry on the basis of PTS-DOS Extended, developed the operating system DOS-Baget. Now it is the only operating system which was certified by Russian Defense Ministry for internal usage.

In 1998 PTS release into market two new products:

PTS BootWizard - the powerful system utility which allows you to have up to 100 and more different and identical operating systems located on the primary or extended hard drive partitions, allows you to change, remove, and resize hard drive partitions without data loss.

PTS DiskGuard - product which granted 100% protection of your data from other users.

Our project managing group focuses on new technologies, looks closely at alternative projects, and identifies key issues and future requirements. Collaborations with leaders of Russian science like the Institute for Computer Aided Design and others, allows us to provide our developments on highest scientific and technical levels.
