                                Copy (CP)

CP allows you to copy, move, and delete both a file or a subdirectory
and a group of files.

Copying a file or a subdirectory

To copy a file or a subdirectory move the selection bar to the desired
file or subdirectory and perform one of the following operations:

1) Select the "Copy" item and then the "Highlighted" item in another
   submenu.
2) Press the key [F5].
3) Move the mouse cursor to the line "F5 Copy .." in the prompt panel and
   press the left button.

Then a panel appears on the screen, which contains the name of the file
being copied and the current directory of Panel B where this file will be
copied to. By default CP suggests that we should copy the file to the
current directory of Panel B. Press [Enter] to confirm this. In case you
want to copy the file somewhere else (i.e., to any other directory of any
other drive you should specify the path in the panel. You may change the
name of the file while copying - type the full new name of the file in the
panel.

Copying a group of files by a pattern

To copy a group of files by a pattern (e.g., all the files with
extension *.exe) you should perform one of the following operations:
1) Select the "Copy" item and then the "Named" item in another submenu.
2) Press the keys [Shift-F5].
3) Press and hold the key [Shift], move the mouse cursor to the line
"F5 Copy .." in the prompt panel and press the mouse left button.

Then enter the file name or a pattern for copying in the panel that
appears on the screen. When specifying a pattern you may use the menu for
editing lines in panels and the wildcard characters "*" and "?" (for
instance, to copy all *.exe files you only need to enter: *.EXE). Then
press [Enter] and the cursor will move to the lower frame where you may
specify the path. Then press [Enter] again.

                 Copying tagged files and Subdirectories

Before copying a group of files or subdirectories it is necessary to
tag the files and subdirectories you want to copy (see
"Tagging Files and Subdirectories"). You may copy the tagged files and
subdirectories by doing one of the following operations:

1) Select the "Copy" item and then the "Tagged" item in another submenu.
2) Press the keys [Ctrl-F5].
3) Press and hold the key [Ctrl], move the mouse cursor to the line
"F5 Copy group" in the prompt panel and press the mouse left button.

Then enter the path in the panel that appears on the screen.

                             Global copying

CP allows you to copy, move and erase files and subdirectories tagged
in different directories and even on different drives. Global copying may be
accomplished performing the following operations:

1) Select the "Copy" item and then the "All tagged" item in another
   submenu.
2) Press the keys [Alt-F5].
3) Press and hold the key [Alt], move the mouse cursor to the line "F5
Global Copy" in the prompt panel and press the mouse left button.

A panel appears on the screen, where you can specify the directory path
where this global file group will be copied to.

If the directory you are copying a file or a group of files to, already
contains a file or a group of files with the same name(s) the following
panel appears on the screen:

         +------------------------------------------------------+
         | File C:\CP\CONFIG.PTS already exists. |
         | Overwrite Skip Merge oVerwrite all mErge all |
         +------------------------------------------------------+

     Select one of the items:
"Overwrite" - to overwrite 1 file,
"Skip" - to skip 1 file,
"Merge" - to add the file being copied to the file with the same
                  name in the destination directory,
"oVerwrite all" - to overwrite all files with the same names in the
                  destination directory,
"mErge all" - to add each file being copied to the file with the same
                  name in the destination directory.
