                       VIEWING GRAPHICS DATA FILES

While viewing files containing graphic images in PCX format
GRAFVIEW.COM program (included in the delivery package) is handy. Like
ARCHVIEW.COM and BASEVIEW.COM it functions only with the CP and cannot be
used separately.

The program can be started automatically if CPVIEW.EXT extension file
is present in the CP directory (see "Extension files"). To be able to
start GRAFVIEW.COM by pressing the key [F3] add to the CPVIEW.EXT the
following line:

PCX: GRAFVIEW !.! [list of options]

The following options can be used:

/EGA - only EGA modes to be used (VGA to be ignored).
/C - by default provision for compression of too large pictures.
/D - by default provision for presenting images as a table of hex numbers
equal to a pixel color (Digit).
/M - by default provision for no use of images during their
        transformation (Dithering).

Upon pressing [F3] the GRAFVIEW.COM utility is loaded and you see an
image on the screen. If you press [F3] once more the graphic panel will be
replaced by a text panel containing information on the image.

     Functional keys:

[Esc] - Exit to previous state.
[F1] - Help (in any situation).
[F2] - Viewing images as hex numbers table representing pixels color (a
letter B is found in the uppermost line in the information panel
         in such a case).
[F3] - Exit to the information panel within the PCX-file.
[F4] - Compression of too large images mode on/off. The images whose
logical dimensions exceed the physical dimensions of the screen
can be viewed either by moving it with arrow keys or compressed
down to fit into the screen (a letter C (compress) is displayed
in such a case in the uppermost line in the information panel).
[Arrow keys]
       - moving the panel up/down/to the left/to the right.
[Home] - moving the panel to the extreme left on the screen.
[End] - moving the panel to the extreme right on the screen.
[PgUp] - moving the panel to the top of the screen.
[PgDn] - moving the panel to the bottom of the screen.
[F5] - showing image pallet (except True Color). A mosaic of rectangles
filled with colors corresponding to those of the pallet appears
         on the screen.
[F7] - EGA mode on/off. It shows how the image will look on the
         EGA-adapter.
[F8] - Toggling the mode of image transformation.
Several rapid image transformation modes are shown consecutively
on the screen. Some of them may seem to have no visible effect on
         the image.
[F9] - Toggle half-tone/stretch image on/off. This flag can be
useful while working with transformed images.
