VIEWING AND EDITING DATABASES

     It is convenient to use the built-in CP database to view and edit
databases in the dBase format.  The layout of the built-in CP database looks

     In the upper left corner you will find the name of the edited file.  To
the right is the indication of the current mode, followed by the number of
the current record. In the upper right corner is the indicator showing which
records are being presently viewed.

                        Starting database editor

     It is done off the CP main panel proceeding like follows:

1) Press [Alt-F2]
2) Select the item "Datease" in the "File" menu.

     A dialogue box then appears for input of the database name.  If the
file has not been found an error message will appear,.

     The database editor can function in the following modes:

   Viewing database
   Editing database
   Editing database form
   Editing the form's text background

     While in the viewing and editing the database you can view:

1. All fields except for remote.
2. Filtered fields only.
3. Remote fields only.

     One of the program's advantages is the possibility to arrange its
output in the appearance of a form. The form can be edited after entering
the form editor mode. For more information see the section
"Editing database form".
