                                 Options

To invoke the "Options" menu press [Ctrl-S] and [O].

Ticked box means that the corresponding mode is activated. To change
the mode:

1) Select the menu item using arrow keys and press [Enter].
2) Point the mouse cursor at the desired box and click twice on the left
   button.

This menu contains the following options:

I - <Ins> moves down
After setting this mode the pointer will move down when tagging files
     by pressing [Ins].

S - Setup auto-saving
The setup menu allows you to set up autosaving mode. If this mode is ON
the CP status will be saved each time you quit CP.

M - Mini-help
The mini-help (prompt) panel is located at the right part of Panel B.
There are two ways to turn mini-help ON or OFF:
     1) Enter the setup menu and select the "O-Options" item. In the panel
that appears on the screen tick box "M-Mini-help" for setting ON and
press [Enter] again to toggle back OFF.
     2) Place the mouse cursor onto the right part of Panel B and click
        right button.

W - Wipe files
To set up the "wipe" mode (to make it impossible to restore wiped
files), enter the setup menu and select the "O-Options" item. In the
panel that appears on the screen tick "W - Wipe files" box and press
     [Enter].

C - Clock and memory monitor
When set, the current time is displayed at the upper right corner of
the screen while the lower right corner shows the amount of free
memory. To set, tick an appropriate box in the "Other" options menu
     and press [Enter].

T - Thousand delimiters
This option introduces thousands delimiters (commas or points) to all
     figures displayed by CP.

A - Alternative filename syntax
By default, you have to enter the filename followed by a point if the
file has no extension. Otherwise, the directory name should be
followed by a back slash, e.g.:

PRN. - file or device name
     DIR - directory name
C:\CP\CP.COM - file or device name
     C:\CP\CP.COM\ - directory name

Using alternative syntax you will not have to insert a point after
the filename, though it would be necessary to use back slash after
     the directory name. For instance:

PRN - file or device name
PRN. - file or device name (similar to the example above)
     C:\CP\ - directory name
C:\CP - file or device name

D - Disk information
This option, if set, provides information on disks. Information Panel
is located in the top right part of the screen above Panel B.

F - full-size DOS screen
If you got problems with packing/unpacking files in CP switch on
the full-size DOS screen when executing packers.

O - Open files in compatibility mode
Switch on this option if error messages "File not found" arise when
     copying/viewing/editing files in network.

L - Leave menu
