WORKING WITH MS-WINDOWS
To install LOTLAN for work with WINDOWS:
1.Start SETUP programs from the WINDOWS directory. The following
menu will appear:

with an asterisk next to it, press F1 before continuing.

Keyboard Layout: US
Language: US
Codepage: English (437)
Network: No Network Installed
Complete Changes: Accept the configuration shown above.
To change a system setting, press the UP or DOWN ARROW key to
move the highlight to the setting you want to change. Then press
ENTER to see alternatives for that item. When you have finished
changing your settings, select the "Complete Changes" option
to quit Setup.

2.Select "Network" item.
3.Then select "Other" item. Specify the drive and path to LotLAN files:

Please insert the network driver disk provided by the hardware
manufacturer. If the files from this disk are located on a different
drive and/or directory, type the path where the files can be found.

The SETUP program will automatically modify the SYSTEM.INI file to make
it compatible with the network software. In particular, the section [386nh]
of the SYSTEM.INI file will be expanded to include the following lines:
NETWORK=*VNETBIOS,LOTLAN.386
Timer Critical Section=5000
ReflectDOSInt2A=TRUE
PSP Increment=1
UniqueDOSPSP=TRUE
OVERLappedIO=OFF

Working with WINDOWS
When working with LotLAN and WINDOWS be aware of the following:
1. To ensure safe server and work station operation WINDOWS program can be
used only after installing special WINDOWS drivers and modifying
parameters in SYSTEM.INI file.
2.It is not recommended to start WINDOWS if server is equipped with i286
processor: with these processors WINDOWS operates in real and standard
modes only.
3.When using server with i386 and higher processors WINDOWS should be
launched only in extended mode.
